Icelandic men’s football coach Heimir Hallgrímsson announced today at a press conference that Gylfi Þór Sigurðsson has been recovering from his injury and is ready for action.
It looks like Gylfi will probably play for at least a few minutes in the friendly match against Norway on Saturday June 2nd, 2018 even though Heimir wouldn’t make any promises. This is fantastic news as Gylfi is a key player in the Icelandic men’s national team and he could get some real game practice in before the first World Cup match against Argentina.
Gylfi has not played since he suffered a bad knee injury against Brighton on March 10th. He has been in rehabilitation since the injury in March and is now returning to the field 84 days later.
